As a Consultant with 18 years of experience working within the contemporary art world, Joseph specializes in breathing life into unexpected projects, including art advisory and collection building for corporate entities and a select clientele. Harnessing a combination of strengths including access with leading artists, curators and dealers at the forefront of the international community, with a longstanding focus on the young contemporary market, Joseph has conceptualized and led production on a range of independent projects in collaboration with international curators, cultural institutions and private clients.

Working both independently and bringing together teams of industry specialists for specific initiatives, and creating many opportunities to engage with next generation leaders, Joseph maintains a unique ability to think outside the box and provide a constant stream of original and informed recommendations.
Joseph began his LA based consulting practice in the fashion world working with international publishing companies and brands including long time clients such as Bottega Veneta, Max Mara and David Webb. In each instance Joseph created original multi-purpose platforms for organic creative partnerships; simultaneously raising awareness for global brands while providing strategic support for artists. Successful collaborations between the luxury sector and the contemporary art world led to art world clients including: MOCA, LAXART, the Hammer Museum, the MAK Center, Center Dance Arts, PS Arts, and American friends of the Serpentine.
A second generation native of Los Angeles, Joseph studied art history and comparative literature at Bennington and Sarah Lawerence colleges, and worked in fashion show production in New York for 8 years before returning to Los Angeles. Joseph’s involvement in what has grown into the international contemporary art community in Los Angeles began in 2000. Working closely with European and New York based fashion world colleagues to provide strategic advice and access to the entertainment world from the West Coast, led to a focus on cultural support and creative strategy for local artists and arts institutions from within a global context.
